How Andrew Built A 10k/Month Agency
Helping Businesses Automate their work

Tell us a little about yourself and what you’re working on right now?

In 2018 I launched Luhhu – we’re a business automation agency and certified Zapier and Integromat partners.

Before that, I’ve had quite a varied career background. I grew up in the south of England, and started and subsequently dropped out of a computer science degree before winding up in London and falling into interninto an intern role at a packaging design firm. From there I ended up doing business development for a couple odf media companies before tiring of city life completely and travelling through Canada, Asian and Europe. It was on that trip I discovered a love for Budapest in Hungary and decided to move there permanently.

What’s your back story and how you got into this space?

While there are other Zapier-certified agencies, we’re one of the only ones that’s solely focused on that tool. Businesses come to us with their problems – namely time and money wasted on manual processes – and find ways to automatefix them using Zapier.

Because of this relentless focus, we’ve come to understand Zapier inside out. We know how it works, what situations it’s ideal for and how to use it to build efficient, scalable processes.

What makes your business unique or different from the rest?

What were some of the greatest challenges you struggled with? And how did you overcome it?

Staying on top of the sheer amount of work we got was a big challenge and still continues to be. Having too much work sounds like a nice problem to have, but it really isn’t. You find yourself spread thin trying to keep too many people happy and work quality can suffer.

Luckily I saw this coming and we’re now a lot more confident as an agency about the types of projects we can deliver very successfully and we make sure to only work on those.

What made this an easy source of revenue for you? What motivated you

I quickly realised that huge numbers of businesses were finding Zapier independently, and understood what it could do for their business – but didn’t have the time or ability to learn how to use it.

Positioning myself as the expert that could swoop in a get it all up and running for them in days rather than weeks has always been a very effective selling point for us and has made it easy to grow and find new customers.

Where do you see yourself and the business in the next 5-10 years?

Still running this agency with a team of 10-15 automation experts and a long list of satisfied clients running their own streamlined businesses thanks to the work we do for them.

How many hours do you spend per day working on your business? How did you make your day more productive?

I work anywhere from 6 – 10 hours per day, split roughly evenly between client work and building the business. I tend to have problems with hopping between tasks rather erratically and not prioritizing my time. I’ve tried to combat this with time spent each day planning and allocating time across what I want to get done and delegating wherever possible.

What would your advice be for someone who’s just starting out?

Keep it simple as they say. Every business, as its core is finding something people want, finding a way to create or deliver that, and doing it at a profit. All your time spent starting up (think the first year) should be about just perfecting that.

Marketing, R&D, growth, it’s all important and will all start to fall into place as you go, but without that core product, you don’t have a business.

What were some of the mistakes you made? If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

When we really started to do well bringing in new clients about 9 months after startingfounding I wished I stepped back a little to develop the businesses internal infrastructure more – it would have made managing our growing workload easier and is something I ended up having to play catch up on.

What is your biggest takeaway from starting the business?

That it’s one of most fulfilling things you can do professionally. The rush of getting an idea, making it work and then building a business around it – there isn’t anything like it. It’s a great way to leave a mark on the world.
